Paonia State Park, at 6,500 feet in elevation, features 1,523 acres of great land scenery, and a 334 acre reservoir. Permitted water activities include boating, fishing, water-skiing, and jet skiing.

The Park is located 16 miles northeast of Paonia on Highway 133.

Because the reservoir water is used for irrigation purposes the water level ebbs as the summer progresses leaving the boat ramp typically unusable by late July.
The Park's natural beauty, wildlife and abundance of wildflowers make it a "must see" for photographers and nature lovers. The only bad news…no drinking water is available in the Park so be certain to bring your own.

Paonia has 15 campsites located in two separate campgrounds on the east end of the reservoir. All campsites have a picnic table, a fire ring and nearby vault toilets. Campsites are $8 per night, and each vehicle entering the Park must have a valid State Parks pass. There are no hiking trails at Paonia State Park.
