Crawford Reservoir view of Needlerock.Situated one mile south of Crawford on the West Elk Loop Scenic Byway, the Crawford State Park is profoundly beautiful, and has fantastic views of Needle Rock, Saddle Mountain, Sleeping Indian, Castle Rock and the West Elk Mountains.

The Park entrance fee of $6 per vehicle can be bought at the peninsula Park Office and visitor center and you can also purchase camping permits, register your boat, OHV, or snowmobile.

Water sports are the main attraction and the reservoir has two boat ramps, and is used for motorized and sail boating, water skiing, jet skiing, scuba diving (in safe areas with a diver’s flag) and swimming at the roped-off peninsula swim beach. A beach house is available for changing and showers. Note: The boat ramps and swim beach can become inaccessible by late summer due to low water levels.

Fishing opportunities are one of the biggest draws to the Park.  Northern Pike, Large Mouth Bass, Yellow Perch, Channel Catfish, Black Crappie, and Rainbow Trout can all be found in these waters.

The Iron Creek campground, on the south end of the Park has 45 sites with water, electric hookups and an RV dump.  It is open from Mid-April through the last hunting season in November.  $18 per night.

The Clearfork campground has 21 sites and is more primitive at $14 per site and is open year round.
All sites in both campgrounds are suitable for either tent or RV camping, and can be reserved by calling the State Park reservation hotline at 1-800-678-CAMP or visiting their website for more information.

ADA Accessible

If you or a traveling companion have a disability, this is a very friendly place to visit. There are ADA approved campsites and picnic areas; and the restrooms, showers and visitor center are all wheelchair accessible.

In fact, this is one of the only state parks in Colorado that has an ADA fishing ramp and pier!
